Objective

The student
- in an uncontrolled situation, is able to use the Finnish Sign Language/augmentative and alternative communication methods
- knows parties involved in the field of Sign Language/speech impairments/teaching of sign supported communication
- is able to identify and distinguish the tasks, working practices, work communities and networks related to the various parties involved in the field of Sign Language/speech impairments/teaching of sign supported communication
- understands the job descriptions and the knowledge, skills and expertise required for the work of a Finnish Sign Language interpreter/interpreter for speech-impaired persons/sign supported communication teacher
- is able to compare job descriptions to job descriptions of other professionals in the field of Sign Language
- understands the significance of networking
- is able to make use of working-life counselling
