In this course, the students will be able to:
- understand definitions and approaches to different types of crisis, trauma and grief
- recognise actors and services in crisis work
- apply different methods and counseling approaches in work with people in crisis
- recognise the potentialities of communities in crisis intervention
This course is divided into three parts, and it will be completed in the following order:
1. Crisis and crisis interventions (2 cr)
2. Crisis work: services, practices and legislation (2cr)
3. Reflections on professional development and crisis work (1 cr)
In addition to the scheduled lectures, there will also be distance learning sessions. These distance learning sessions will be in Collaborate, and these sessions will help students with learning assignments.
Learning assignments includes and infographic, a crisis intervention plan and a seminar presentation.
