Objective

Students
• know how to predict, identify and assess changes and resources related to the health, ability to function and wellbeing of the elderly
• know how to plan, execute and assess evidence-based elder care in multi-professional collaboration and with a working method that respects a good and safe life as well as an individual lifestyle, culture and values
• know how to plan, implement and assess holistic pharmacotherapy and consider the functional changes in an older person’s organs
• know how to independently and under supervision administer the prescribed pharmacotherapy for the customer/patient
• know how to support and guide an aging person and their immediate circle, respect their experiences and opinions, listen to them and strengthen their inclusion and agency
• know how to utilise various working methods of gerontological nursing, promotion of health and the ability to function, prevention of insufficiency and health technology applications in elder care and self-care
• know how to analyse and assess the ethical challenges related to elder care and the use of health technology applications
• know how to present development suggestions as a basis of ethically sustainable elder care
