Objective
The students will be able to
- reflect personal background and is sensitive to different service users in diversity context
- recognise the specific needs of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants from different backgrounds and in different contexts
- develop skills in anti-oppressive practice in relation to discriminated or oppressed individuals, groups and communities
- deal with diversity of religion and culture
- understand interfaith dialogue, religious literacy and spiritual social work method
- familiarise themselves with multicultural competences and intercultural communication in different work settings

Teaching methods
Study module is an online course including orientation, lectures, independent learning, assignment, supervision and final workshop.
Location and time
- Orientation to the study module is compulsory in order to start the course.
- Lectures on relevant themes.
- Independent work on the given assignment.
- Supervision for the assignment.
- Final workshop days.

Completion alternatives
Alternative way of completing the study module is only possible upon specific circumstances/criteria (i.e. sickness etc.). Personal reasons such as travel and work are not considered as acceptable criteria.
Alternative way of completing the study module must be agreed with the responsible teacher and/or study guidance counselor two weeks before the beginning of the study module the latest.
In this study module, the alternative way of completing the course contains an extensive written assignment or participation in a pre-agreed work-life related project or similar.
Student workload
Student´s workload is approximately 26h 40min per credit that is divided between different learning tasks during the study module.

The study module requires skills to use online learning area. Possibility to get AHOT/RPL as described in Diak´s RPL/AHOT guidelines.
