Objective

Societal competencies in digital health and social care services are the core of this area of competence. It refers to people as part of society,
communities and systems, and understand how the digitalisation of services and society affects the relationship between the individual and society, as well as people's well-being and everyday life. Students must be able to identify and analyse inequalities and possible discriminatory structures and processes related to technology. The goal is to be able to promote inclusion and opportunities for participation in a human-centred manner.

After learning about societal competencies in digital health and social care services, students are experts in their multidisciplinary roles and are able to
• promote citizens' participation and opportunities for participation in a society with developing technology
• analyse the inequalities taking place in society that are caused by technologisation
• recognise discriminatory structures and processes related to technologisation (digital divides)
• analyse the social impacts of technologisation, especially ones that are due to the technological development of electronic social and health care services and society and that impact people's well-being and everyday life
