  Opintojakson osaamistavoitteet

  At the end of the course the student is expected to
  • Apply scientific knowledge of family nursing in the nursing care, health promotion and family support of children and adolescents with chronic conditions
  • Identify common national and international challenges and societal changes in health promotion and chronic disease management with children and adolescents
  • Assess the effectiveness of solution-focused and multidisciplinary family support and nursing
  • Support and advice families in using services provided by NGOs, church organisations and low-threshold programmes
  
  Opiskelija
  - osaa soveltaa tieteellistä tietoa perhehoitotyöstä lapsen/nuoren pitkäaikaissairauden hoidossa, terveyden edistämisessä ja vaikutuksista perheeseen
  - osaa nostaa esiin ja tunnistaa yleisiä kansallisia ja kansainvälisiä haasteita ja yhteiskunnan muutoksia lasten ja nuorten terveyden edistämisessä ja pitkäaikaissairauksien hoidossa
  - osaa arvioida voimavarakeskeisen ja moniammatillisen perhe- ja perhehoitotyön toiminnan vaikuttavuutta
  - osaa ohjata ja tukea perhettä käyttämään järjestöjen, seurakunnan ja matalan kynnyksen palveluita

  Edeltävä osaaminen

  Suitable for nurses, public health nurses and midwives to specialize and update their competence, or for a student in a Bachelor’s Degree Program in Health Care who has already completed the relevant basic professional studies (The care of children, youth, and families -studies) in their own degree program. A prerequisite for proceeding to the advanced studies is approx. 120 completed credits or other specific reason which has been discussed and agreed with the study guidance counsellor. For Open UAS students’ mastery of the equivalent knowledge (comparable study module of another UAS or adequate work experience as a nurse).
  
  Soveltuu sairaanhoitajille, terveydenhoitajille ja kätilöille osaamisen syventämiseen ja päivittämiseen tai terveysalan amk-opiskelijalle, joka on suorittanut jo omassa tutkinnossaan aiheeseen liittyvät ammatilliset perusopinnot (lasten, nuorten ja perheiden hoitotyön opinnot). Edellytyksenä syventäviin opintoihin siirtymiselle on n. 120 opintopistettä tai opon kanssa sovittu jokin muu erityinen syy. Avoimen amk:n opiskelijalla vastaavien tietojen hallinta (muiden AMKien vastaava opintojakso tai riittävä työkokemus sairaanhoitajana).

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate evidence-based clinical nursing with children and adolescents according to ethical and economic principles
  • Discuss challenges and potential health and wellbeing risks relating to health promotion with children and families
  • Work in various family nursing settings in compliance with ethical and professional standards, the values of family nursing, children’s rights, privacy legislation and applicable regulations
  • Develop professional competencies in dealing with families from different and individual backgrounds and in different, individual life stages and settings
  • Anticipate, identify and analyse factors that can promote families’ inclusion or exclusion, and support and guide families in using multiple services
  • Independently administer prescribed medical care under supervision
  • Is able to use technological applications and is able to analyze ethical principles related to using technology in care of clients / patients
  • Perform professional nursing roles in multi-sectoral and multidisciplinary practice

For Open UAS students’ mastery of the equivalent knowledge (comparable study module of another UAS or adequate work experience as a nurse).

  Edeltävä osaaminen

  Suitable for nurses, public health nurses and midwives to specialize and update their competence, or for a student in a Bachelor’s Degree Program in Health Care who has already completed the relevant basic professional studies (The care of children, youth, and families -studies) in their own degree program. A prerequisite for proceeding to the advanced studies is approx. 120 completed credits or other specific reason which has been discussed and agreed with the study guidance counsellor. For Open UAS students’ mastery of the equivalent knowledge (comparable study module of another UAS or adequate work experience as a nurse).
  
  Soveltuu sairaanhoitajille, terveydenhoitajille ja kätilöille osaamisen syventämiseen ja päivittämiseen tai terveysalan amk-opiskelijalle, joka on suorittanut jo omassa tutkinnossaan aiheeseen liittyvät ammatilliset perusopinnot (lasten, nuorten ja perheiden hoitotyön opinnot). Edellytyksenä syventäviin opintoihin siirtymiselle on n. 120 opintopistettä tai opon kanssa sovittu jokin muu erityinen syy.   Diakin opetussuunnitelmaa noudattavat suomenkieliset ryhmät tekevät tämän harjoittelun 15 opintopisteen laajuisena. Nursing-ryhmät tekevät tämän harjoittelun opetussuunnitelman mukaisesti 20 opintopisteen laajuisena.

  Competency aims:
  The aim of the course is that the student
  • Conducts a smaller study in a structured and methodologically correct way
  • Develops his/her abilities writing scientifically and clear and his/her ability to critically review and evaluate a thesis work
  
  Learning outcomes:
  At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to
  • Argue for his/her data -gathering and - analysing method
  • Critically discuss and evaluate his /her work comparing it to earlier research in the field
  • Present the result in a seminar
  • Function as an opponent to another thesis during a thesis presentation

  Competency aims:
  • To understand the meaning of the concept of knowledge, different forms of knowledge and different traditions for knowledge building.
  • To understand the relationship between the perspectives of knowledge in different disciplines or interdisciplinary areas
  • To have basic knowledge of the research process and of various research methods, especially about methods that have particular relevance to the own profession.
  • Can apply scientific literature in one’s own work, as well as reference material in own knowledge development.
  • To have developed knowhow and can participate in work-related projects and thereby contribute to knowledge development.
  
  Learning outcomes:
  At the end of the course the student is expected to
  • Read, understand and be able to critically review scientific literature.
  • Assign forms of knowledge to different types of thesis.
  • Search, manage, and critically evaluate academic articles and research in one’s own professional field.
  • Know and understand the basic concepts relating to quantitative and qualitative data, as well as how and when they can be used.
  • Know and understand the concept design, data collection and analysis methods that generate both quantitative and/or qualitative data, and their relevance in the field of research and development of working life within your own profession.
  • Can apply relevant methods in the thesis.
  • Have mastered the basics of collecting quantitative data, can use of a statistics program for data analysis and have mastered the grounds for interpreting results and reporting findings in the form of descriptive statistics.
  • Can apply suitable collection and analysis methods for qualitative data, and account for results.
  • Have developed an exploratory approach in order to be able to contribute to knowledge development in one’s own professional field.
  • Can report and critically argue in writing and have mastered the techniques reference citations.
  • Can apply principles of professional and research ethics in studies.
