Objective

The students will be able to:
• understand different theories and theoretical approaches used in social work
• understand and recognise the operation of power in social work practice
• understand the need for critical reflection in social work practice
• understand the role of social work in different local and global contexts

• Critical reflection and reflective practice in social work
• Social work in different local and global contexts.

Location and time

- The module will consist of few lectures and supervision sessions either on campus or online + individual learning using a lesson tool in Diakle.

Exam schedules

Oral group exam will take place on campus.
If the student is not able to participate in the exam they must take it on campus on any general exam day.

Completion alternatives

Alternative way of completing the study module consists of a large exam to be taken on a general exam day. This option is available only if the student has a valid reason for not participating in teaching. It must be agreed with the teacher at least two weeks before the beginning of the module.

Possibility to get RPL/AHOT if equivalent studies and study credits are carried out in a University or University of Applied Sciences. Possibility to get AHOT/RPLby work experience from direct client work complemented with a reflective essay where aforementioned literature is used as a source.
