Objective

Online guiding competencies refer to situations in which the professional and the client discuss matters related to the client’s situation in a goal-oriented manner through an information network; matters could include promoting the clients' health and well-being and coping with everyday life. The customer is understood as an active expert of their own situation. Online guiding competence identifies the client’s guidance needs and the IT competence in a customer-oriented manner; goals are planned together with the client in online guidance sessions, and the success of the guidance is assessed. The online counsellor is also able to prepare guidance material, such as written material, recordings and videos.

After learning about online interaction competence, students are experts in their multidisciplinary roles and are able to
• describe the content and process of online guidance competence
• assess the need for online guidance
• plan an online guidance session
• produce written material for online guidance
• assess their online guidance competence
