Content scheduling
Opintojaksolla tulkataan huonokuuloisten ja kuuroutuneiden käyttämillä eri kommunikaatiomenetelmillä (viitottu puhe, huulioluku, sormiaakkosviestintä, antikva, käsin kirjoitus). Opintojaksolla harjoitellaan tulkkausta kuurosokeille eri menetelmillä (taktiiliviittominen, puheen toisto, viittominen kaventuneeseen näkökenttään). Opiskelija käyttää tulkkaustilanteissa kuvailua ja sosiaalishaptista kommunikaatiota. Opintojakson aikana harjoitellaan opastamaan turvallisesti.

Students will be able to
- interpret for deafened and hard-of-hearing people by various methods
- interpret for deafblind people by various methods
- provide audio description as part of interpreting
- use social-haptic modes of communication
- provide safe guiding

Opintojen suorittaminen edellyttää laajaa viittomien sanavarastoa ja vahvaa tulkkauksen perusteiden hallintaa. Lisäksi opiskelijan tulee tuntea viittomakieliset asiakasryhmänä ennen kelpoisuuskokonaisuuden aloittamista.
