Content scheduling

Tällä opintojaksolla opiskelijan on tarkoitus tutustua viittomakielialaan, puhevammaisten tulkkaukseen ja viittomien opetukseen. Harjoittelut 1 ja 2 suoritetaan niin, että jos 2. lukuvuoden syksyllä (Harjoittelu 1) opiskelija tutustuu viittomakielialaan ja viittomakielen tulkkaukseen niin 2. lukuvuoden keväällä (Harjoittelu 2) opiskelija tutustuu puhevammaisten tulkkaukseen ja viittomien opetukseen, tai päinvastoin. Opiskelijan tulee tutustua kumpaankin alaan harjoittelujen 1 ja 2 aikana. Opintojakson aikana on tärkeää, että opiskelijalle muodostuu molemmista aloista realistinenkäsitys, joka on pohjana myöhemmälle suuntautumisen valinnalle. Tämän harjoittelun työelämäohjaajan arvio opiskelijan soveltuvuudesta alalle on yksi merkittävistä tekijöistä, kun opiskelija valitsee ammatillista suuntautumistaan joko kielten väliseen tai kielensisäiseen tulkkaukseen ja pedagogiikkaan.
Opintojaksolla on tärkeää vahvistaa sekä kielitaitoa että tulkin työn ja ammattietiikan ymmärtämistä ja osaamista käytännön tilanteissa. Näiden teemojen osaaminen on aloitettu opintokokonaisuuksissa Oppiminen ja ammatillisen työn lähtökohdat sekä Viittomakieliala.
Ennen tätä opintojaksoa opiskelija on opiskellut viittomakieltä ja sekä viittomakielialan ja -tulkkauksen että puhevamma-alan, puhevammaisten tulkkauksen ja viittomien opetuksen perusteita. Harjoittelujen jälkeen opiskelija on valmis valitsemaan suuntautumisensa, jonka perusteella taitoja aletaan tulevissa opintojaksoissa vahvistaa ja syventää.
2. lukuvuoden opinnoissa Työkielet 2 -opintojaksossa tehdään harjoittelupaikkahakemus ja työnäyte, joita voi käyttää tämän harjoittelun yhteydessä.

Objective

The student
- in an uncontrolled situation, is able to use the Finnish Sign Language/augmentative and alternative communication methods
- knows parties involved in the field of Sign Language/speech impairments/teaching of sign supported communication
- is able to identify and distinguish the tasks, working practices, work communities and networks related to the various parties involved in the field of Sign Language/speech impairments/teaching of sign supported communication
- understands the job descriptions and the knowledge, skills and expertise required for the work of a Finnish Sign Language interpreter/interpreter for speech-impaired persons/sign supported communication teacher
- is able to compare job descriptions to job descriptions of other professionals in the field of Sign Language
- understands the significance of networking
- is able to make use of working-life counselling
