Objective

Competency aims:
The aim of the course is that the student
• Continues to develop her/his competence in contextual clinical care.
• Continues to deepen competence in the assessment and care of the patient in critical condition within the context of an intensive unit, operating theatre including anesthesia.

Learning outcomes:
At the end of the course the student is expected to be able to
• Verbalize, discuss and participate during contact days in the simulation/skill development center.
• Theme: main principles, responsibility of the professional nurse when caring for clients in the critical care unit/operating room setting including anesthesia.

Content

Course contents:
• An introduction to intensive care nursing (2 cr)
• An introduction to anesthesia (nursing) (2 cr)
• An introduction to surgical scrub/circulating nurse in the operation theatre (1 cr)
