Objective

The students will be able to:
• understand the basics of the life span approach in human development
• understand the emotional, cognitive, moral and social development across the life span
• reflect on cultural factors determining development across the life span
• apply the life-span approach in social and community development work

Content

• Emotional, cognitive, moral and social development across the life span
• Culture and human development
• Life span approach in social work and community work

Teaching methods

There will be lectures, a final workshop and 2 learning assignments. The learning assignments will be done individually. During the final workshop, the students will be in small groups, where they will have to apply what they have learned from the lectures and the individual assignments. It is important that the students are present during lectures and participate actively in the discussions.

Materials

Required reading materials and other references will be published in the moodlerooms.
