Objective
The students will be able to:
• understand different management and leadership theories and practices
• recognise management strategies applied in organisations in the field of social work and community development work
• analyse organisational theories and their application in social work and community work practice
• understand the importance of welfare at work
• apply leadership approaches and practices at work in different organizations

Teaching methods
This study module consists of so called non-syncronised studies. This means that student works on the materials and assignments independently and according their own timetables. However, taking part in one of the supervision sessions is compulsary.
While other assignments are done individually, work-life interview can be conducted also in pairs.

135h of student work during minimum of 5 weeks
Content scheduling
Student will create a timetable for the course considering the start date (12th of February 2024) and end date (6th of December 2024) of the course.Studies take minimum of five weeks. Please note that all study assignments must be submitted before the end date of the course. If student has not completed all the study assignment by the end of the course, please enroll to the next course 2025.
Any submissions after the end of the course will not be accepted.
If student wishes to study course during summer, course guidance session must be attended before the summer break. Attending the guidance session is compulsary and without it, studies during the summer are not possble.
Assessment methods and criteria
-assignments 1-4 are graded pass-to be resubmitted
-assignment 5 is graded numerally (1-5)
-grade of the assignment 5 is your numeral grade of the course
