• understand the specificities of patient safety in pharmacotherapy in the care of older people
• know the principles of clinical pharmacology in pharmacotherapy of the most common diseases of older people and know how to apply the information in nursing.
• know the risk medications in the pharmacotherapy of older people
• can assess the pharmacotherapy of older people
• can offer guidance on pharmacotherapy and its self-monitoring to customers/patients and their families
• know how to use drug databases and apply the information in pharmacotherapy
• can perform the medical calculations included in the course

Toteutuksen valinnaiset suoritustavat
Aiemmin sairaanhoitajaopinnoissa suoritetulla vastaavalla opintojaksolla voidaan ahotoida teoriaosuus 1op
Laskujen riittävä osaaminen osoitetaan tekemällä tentti (hyväksytty/hylätty)
Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus
Luento-opetus: 12 h, laskentaopetus 4 h, tentit 4 h. Itsenäinen opiskelu: 34 h.
