Tavoitteet

Course description and Learning outcomes:

The Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) Ethical Reflections on Mental Health (3 credits) is a unique opportunity to learn from experts and peers from different countries. The inspiring programme consists of lectures and collaborative online teamwork with an intensive week in Helsinki, Finland. The course will expose the students to different points of view, knowledge, teaching and methods as well as work practices within their field in a European and international context concerning the topic Mental health. For 2026, the BIP theme will be: “Best practices and ethical challenges on Mental Health Interventions”

In this BIP, the students will:

1. Understand the model of ethical reflection and apply them to preventative, recovery-oriented and rehabilitative practices in mental health.
2. Analyze mental health interventions / practices in an interdisciplinary manner and recognize possible ethical and systemic challenges.
3. Engage in a collaborative and reflective dialogue with an international group of students to plan and implement a preventative intervention during the Mental Health Art Week.
4. Learn how community-level interventions and participatory models contribute to a more equitable mental healthcare services.
