The student will be able to:use the teaching and learning methods applied at DIAK (contact teaching, e-learning, group work...)use DIAK email and the virtual study platform, Fronteruse the services offered by study office, student welfare group (study councellor, study advisor, student nurse, pastor) and libraryuse information search available at DIAKbe an active participant in student union O',Diakofunction according to safety regulations at DIAKunderstand and know the organizational structure, value base and actors at Diaconia University of Applied Sciencesknow the curriculum of DSS and create a personal study planknow the degree regulations and general practicalities related to studiesstudy in an international group of studentsknow and understand group dynamics and improve personal team work skillsThe student will participate in all contact teaching duringcontact teaching weeks and complete assignments given during teaching in order to reach the objectives of the study unit.In addition, an essay about group work will be written. In the essay both theoretical understanding and personal experiences of group structure and dynamics will be discussed.Furthermore, academic English, information search, the structure of an essay and the use of referencing will be practiced. This is a joint assignment with LCO0203B16S Communication Skills (3 ECTS) and ENG1002B16S Academic English 1 (2 ECTS).

Toteutuksen valinnaiset suoritustavat

The student will follow video recordings of lectures, write an essay about groupwork using guidelines given by teacher.In addition, atutoring session with the teacher will be organised.
