Clinical expertise skills workshops and simulations (3cr)

Objective

Students
• are able to work in clinical decision-making situations in different nursing environments
• reinforce their competence in planning, implementing and evaluating holistic evidence-based nursing care
• are able to deal with acute crisis situations and deepen their skills in the treatment of trauma patients
• can identify psychosocial support needs and offer guidance to customers/patients and their family members
• know how to administer parenteral nutrition and fluid therapy and pharmacotherapy and can enhance their pain management skills
• can back up their decisions using evidence-based knowledge and treatment recommendations
• can coordinate and prioritise nursing tasks and work with patient safety and observing sustainable practices
• can use health technology and interactive channels for remote care
• understand the principles of nurse consultation practices
• develop their oral and written Finnish language skills needed in care settings

Qualifications

Participation in the AEE03 -skill workshop and simulation training is only allowed after all other clinical simulation studies have been completed (exceptions may be made based on an agreement with a study counselor).

Recognition of prior learning is only possible if the student has a previous nursing degree or equivalent higher education studies leading to a nursing degree.
