Objective
Students
• can apply evidence-based knowledge on family care, child/adolescent’s long-term health care and health promotion
• can identify resources and risk factors for the health and wellbeing of children, adolescents and families at both national and international level
• can assess the quality and effectiveness of resource-centred and multiprofessional family support and nursing
• can work in multiprofessional cooperation and refer families to different services
• can evaluate services in accordance with ethics and the principles of sustainable development

Qualifications
Suitable for nurses, public health nurses, and midwives to deepen and update their skills, or for health sector university of applied sciences students who have already completed the relevant professional basic studies in their degree. The requirement for transitioning to advanced studies is approximately 120 credits or another specific reason agreed upon with a study counselor. Open university students should have equivalent knowledge (a corresponding course from another university of applied sciences or sufficient work experience as a nurse).
