Objective
Students
•	know how to use the professional methods of mental health, substance abuse and crisis work in customer work
•	know how to apply key legislation concerning the workplace
•	know how to assess services taking into account the service needs of a mental health, substance abuse and crisis work customer and the appropriate timing of the services
•	are familiar with professional and inclusive documentation and understand the importance of documentation in customer work
•	support participation, equality and social integration of the customer and their network of close contacts and participate in discourse relating to their field
•	identify situations involving value conflicts in work with customers
•	know how to apply the values and ethical principles of social work in substance abuse, mental health and crisis work and work community situations
•	know how to act as a member of a multi-professional team in the versatile operating environments of mental health, substance abuse and crisis work
•	promote social justice in work with customers and their network of close contacts
•	have knowledge of and adhere to data security and protection as well as practices related to customer safety
•	know how to reflect on their professional growth, professional identity and actions as a professional in social work
•	know how to reflect on their values and understand how they impact their professionalism
