Students
- understand the basis and significance of research-based development work in developing the interpreting field
- can systematically retrieve, assess and apply information in research and development work
- manages the research and development process holistically
- can plan a final thesis that promotes the development of the interpreting field

- the basis and process of research and development work
- systematic information retrieval as part of the research-based approach
- from thesis idea to thesis plan
- presenting the thesis plan and giving peer feedback for other students’ plans
- ethics of research and development and the roles of the contributing actors
