Objective

The students will be able to:
• understand different approaches, theories and concepts in substance use and addictions
• understand the legislation and policies related to substance use and addictions
• Reflect on the role of social services professionals in rehabilitative services and treatment
• Recognize the different assessment tools, interventions and work methods in relation to substance use and addictions.
• use methods in identifying substance abuse and addictions
• apply work methods and advanced counselling skills in work with people with substance abuse problems
