Objective

Upon completing the course unit, the student understands that, in a professional organisation, decision-making is based on data (data-driven management) and that, in order to obtain information for decision-making, data management practices must be in order (management of data). The student is able to analyse the maturity level of an organisation’s data management practices and to design development measures to improve the organisation’s operations. The student is able to assess the tools and software required by the organisation and to use a Business Intelligence (BI) tool for reporting, integrating and visualising information, and for data analysis. The student is proficient in the field’s terminology and is able to participate in data management development projects as an expert in their own business area.

* Intelligent, interactive reporting and visualisation * Business information management, information governance, and data-driven management * Various data sources, their integration, and refinement for modern problem-solving * Use of a Business Intelligence tool (Power BI or an equivalent)

Completed higher education degree (Bachelor's level)

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student has completed the study unit learning tasks and demonstrated competence in mastering the core content of the study unit. There is considerable scope for improvement in applying this to working life situations and/or in sharing competence.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student has, overall, performed well in the tasks for the study unit. They have been an active learner both individually and within a team. The student has demonstrated an ability to apply the knowledge and practices acquired from the literature, lectures, and other sources in tasks that analyse and develop working life.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student has completed all components of the study unit with distinction. They have demonstrated interest and motivation to learn both individually and as part of a team, and they have shared their competence with others. The student has mastered the course content and skilfully applies what they have learned from the literature, lectures, and other sources in tasks that analyse and develop working life.
