Objective
The purpose of the study module is to strengthen the student’s competence concerning the key principles of career management, through which the work ability, motivation, and competence of employees of different ages are promoted. Additionally, the aim is to enhance expertise in matters related to age, career transitions, and workplace personnel practices. Upon completion of the course, the student will: 1) Recognise issues and challenges related to employees of different ages and career transitions, and identify ways to address them. 2) Understand the effects of age discrimination in working life, recognise age-related prejudices, and generate alternative ways of speaking and acting in the workplace. 3) Understand the factors affecting work ability and apply them to the development of work ability and work engagement among employees of different ages. 4) Understand the significance of career management and age management for organisational success. 5) Apply various theoretical perspectives to career management and age management. 6) Evaluate an organisation’s age management practices and identify areas in need of development. 7) Plan concrete actions and strategies for strengthening and developing age management within organisations.
