Objective

Upon completion of the course, the student:
• is able to analyse and develop an organisation’s project activities from a strategic perspective
• is capable of assessing the actual impact of projects and making well-founded decisions
• understands contemporary approaches to project work and is able to select appropriate methods and tools
• understands the human factors in project management and is able to reflect on their significance for the success of a project.

Content

• Projects in business strategy: assessment of benefits and impact, as well as the fundamentals of portfolio management
• Modern project methods and tools
• Continuous learning and development in project activities
• Current themes in the management of project organisations and people

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient performance: has completed basic requirements to pass the course and has made an attempt to apply and articulate concepts and information both verbally and in writing but has not made enough effort overall. The student has demonstrated little effort, interest and motivation for individual or team activities / assignments and the output is rather weak.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good overall performance: can apply and articulate concepts and information well both verbally and in writing, certain areas of individual or team output require further attention; shows appropriate level of interest and motivation in individual and team activities. Good presentation delivery and analysis.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent performance in all elements of the course: shows interest and motivation in individual and team activities and assignments, fully applies and clearly articulates concepts and information both verbally and in writing. The student is able to support his/her argument with references to the recommended reading and lecture content. Excellent presentation delivery and analysis.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Criteria for passing the course unit:
The student has completed the learning assignments for the course unit and demonstrated mastery of its central content. The student has shown the ability to apply knowledge and practices acquired from literature, lectures, and other sources in tasks that analyse and develop working life. All assignments for the course unit have been submitted according to the schedule.

Criteria for failing the course unit:
The student has not demonstrated sufficient mastery of the central content of the course unit. The student has not shown the ability to apply knowledge in tasks analysing and developing working life, or the application is incorrect or inconsistent. Performance is also failed if the student has not completed some of the assignments for the course unit or has submitted them late without an acceptable reason.
