Objective

After completing this study unit the students will be able to
- explore and analyse the concept of Asset-Based Community Development Approach (ABCD) within the history of community development
- identify asset-based community development theories and methods
- analyse empowerment strategies in community development
- apply asset-based community development methods in practice
- analyse and evaluate participatory approaches to community development

- theories and methods of asset-based community development and capacity building
- core values and principles that underpin arts- and asset-based empowering community development
- asset-based community development practice
- participatory methods and participatory rural appraisal (PRA) tools
