- understand pharmacotherapy as part of patient safety and are familiar with the documentation of dangerous and complication events in pharmacotherapy
- understand their responsibility for their actions during training
- understand the basics of general pharmacology and pharmacy

- know how to guide patients in pharmacotherapy and the interpretation of an electronic prescription
- know how to execute basic drug calculations without errors

OPISKELIJAN TAVOITTEET:
- ymmärtää turvallisen lääkehoidon periaatteet; vastuut ja velvollisuudet (lainsäädäntö, lääkehoitosuunnitelma, osaamisen varmistaminen)
- osaa noudattaa aseptiikkaa ja turvallisia työtapoja lääkehoidossa (vaara- ja haittatapahtumat ja niiden ilmoittaminen)
- tietää lääkehoidon keskeiset käsitteet
- ymmärtää lääkkeen vaiheet ja vaikutukset elimistössä (farmakodynamiikka ja -kinetiikka)
- ymmärtää lääkeaineen haitta- ja yhteisvaikutukset
- osaa toteuttaa turvallista lääkehoitoa (tietää lääkkeiden erilaiset antotavat; lääkkeenanto luonnollista tietä ja s.c/i.m injektiot, lääkkeiden jakaminen potilaskohtaisiin annoksiin)
- osaa etsiä ja soveltaa tietoa lääkkeistä lääketietokannoista
- tietää lääkehuolIon eri toimintaympäristöissä (peruslääkevalikoima, erityisluvalliset lääkkeet, tilaaminen, säilyttäminen ja hävittäminen)
- osaa kirjata lääkehoidon kannalta keskeiset asiat asiakirjasäännösten mukaisesti (FinnCC)
- osaa ohjata potilasta lääkehoidossa ja sähköisen reseptin tulkinnassa
- osaa lääkematematiikan perusteet; verranto, päättely ja annoskaava, yksikkömuunnokset, prosentit, roomalaiset numerot
- hallitsee lääkelaskennan taidot; lääkeannoksen laskeminen potilaalle, lääkeannos painon mukaan, tiputusnopeus
