Objective

The student will be able to:
• know Finnish language at the skill level A1.1
• know vocabulary and grammar relevant to the skill level A1.1
• understand some familiar everyday expressions if the other person speaks very slowly
• communicate with very basic phrases if the other person is prepared to help

• common vocabulary and phrases
• everyday speaking
• noun declension
• verb conjugation
• grammatical cases of genitive and partitive
• questions

Teaching methods

The course consists of contact teaching (lectures), group discussions, individual learning assignments and exam.

Suomen mestari 1 (new edition), chapters 1- 4, teacher´s material

Exam schedules

written exam 12.5.

retake exams possibilities: 19.5 and 9.6.

Content scheduling

Structures of the language, pronunciation and vocabulary
Texts and dialogues
Computer aided exercises on all sections mentioned above.

Contents:
Alphabets, greetings, days of the week, numbers, languages, countries, nationalities, weather and times of the year, me and my family
Personal pronouns, verb type 1, negative sentence, question words, -ko-question, genitive, partitive, minulla on -sentence, pronunciation

Active participation to contact teaching, independent assignments and an exam affect to assessment:
