Objective
Students
• know how to guide and support customers in matters related to sexuality, relationships and family planning
• are familiar with ordinary pregnancies and development of fetuses
• are familiar with the principles of monitoring and strengthening family health, wellbeing and resources as well as principles of culturally sensitive and family-oriented work at maternity and child clinics
• know the risk factors related to pregnancies and childbirth and the related research and follow-up treatment
• know the process of and care during childbirth and know how to operate in sudden childbirth
• know the principles of monitoring and promoting the health of new-borns and someone who just gave birth
• know the theoretical justifications and guidance practices of breastfeeding
• are familiar with the legislation, national instructions and development policies governing child and maternity clinic operations
