Objective
The students will be able to:
• understand different theories and concepts in substance abuse and addictions
• understand the legislation and policies related to substance abuse and addictions
• understand different services in rehabilitation
• use methods in identifying substance abuse and addictions
• apply work methods and advanced counselling skills in work with people with substance abuse problems

• Theories and concepts of substance abuse, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, drugs, addictions, game addiction
• Legislation and services
• Different treatment approaches
• Methods in identifying substance abuse or addiction
• Work methods and advanced counselling skills in work with people with substance abuse and addictions problems
Teaching methods
Lectures, written assignments and final workshop.Individual studying on given study materials.

Completion alternatives
Possibility to get RPL/AHOT if equivalent studies and study credits are carried out in a University or University of Applied Sciences. Possibility to get AHOT/RPLby work experience from direct client work in the field complemented with a reflective essay and exam
