Objective

The students will be able to:
• recognise research, development and innovation processes in a working life context
• recognise different research methods and data analysis methods
• understand the thesis process
• understand aims, theoretical concepts, methods and ethics in the thesis process
• write a thesis idea paper

Student workload

- The study module includes 3 ECTS. This means 81 hours work for a student (3 x 27 hours).

The study module contains the following assignments:
- Literature search
- Thesis idea paper
- Research method workshops and tests

Content scheduling

The study module contains:
- Orientation lecture for thesis process in Diak (obligatory).
- Literature search
- Lectures and workshops on research methods (qualitative and quantitative) and research ethics.

- RES01 (Participatory and Research-Oriented Development 1) study module is the basis for writing a thesis in Diak:

- The following lectures require mandatory participation: orientation, literature search, research methods and research ethics and thesis idea paper workshop.
- RES01 need to be completed and passed before the student can continue to RES02: to write a thesis idea paper and a thesis proposal.

The study module is assessed: pass/ to be resubmitted
To pass RES01 (3 ECTS), the student needs to participate to obligatory lectures and complete all required assignments and tests:
- The following lectures require mandatory participation: orientation, literature search, research methods and research ethics and thesis idea paper workshop.
