Objective
The students will be able to:
• apply research, development and innovation processes
• apply different strategies and methods in research, development and innovation
• recognise participatory research approach
• write a thesis plan
• manage and use guidance in the thesis process
• critically reflect on research and other sources of knowledge and justify their decisions

Teaching methods
Lectures, workshops and a seminar. All lectures in Zoom are obligatory.

The thesis proposal is related to a work life organisation.
Exam schedules
There are no exams.
International connections
If a thesis is conducted with an international partner or outside of Finland, it needs to be agreed with teachers.
Student workload
2 credits = 54 hours of a student's workload (1 credit=27 hours)
Content scheduling
The student needs to complete the following assignments and tasks:
- All four lectures & workshops require compulsory attendance.
- Writing, submitting and presenting a thesis proposal in a thesis seminar.
- Acting as an opponent for a thesis proposal.
- Writing a Collaborative writing agreement when the thesis is written with a peer student or a group of students.
Further information
The student has to pass RES1 (spring 2024) to be able to continue to RES2 study module.
After a completed RES1, teachers will add students manually to RES2. The students need to register for RES2.
