Content scheduling
The course starts with a face-to-face lesson (after info), where we go through the anatomical areas together.
The course proceeds in stages. We move forward section by section, starting with the cell (first face-to-face lesson). The last section is about bones and muscles.
In between, you will be asked to do some homework section by section.
After the sections, there is a vocabulary test to be done at home. This is followed by the actual exam on campus.
Objective
Students
• can describe the structure, location and function of cells, tissues, organs and organ systems in the human body
• know the regulation and tasks of blood circulatory and respiratory functions
• know the structure and functions of the nervous system
• know how to use the most common scientific concepts in the field
• can use their knowledge in clinical nursing and understand the differences between the functions of a healthy and diseased body (pathophysiology)

Teaching methods
The study course of anatomy and physiology starts with an info session in the zoom.
This course has two face-to-face sessions on campus. In addition, the course requires you to do some pre-assignments before each zoom sessions (3 times) and before the last face-to-face session.
The lectures and exercises also include Latin and Finnish words that you will need to learn for a separate vocabulary test.
At the end of the study course there is an bigger exam, which takes place on campus under supervision.
A more detailed explanation:
The first time, after info session at zoom, we go through the anatomical areas together at campus. We will also study the human cell at the same session.
In the last session, we will go through the musculoskeletal system and refresh for the exam.
In between, you will be asked to do some homework section by section.
The sections are cell, tissues, circulatory system, respiratory system, nervous system and musculoskeletal system.
Before each section lecture (3 times in zoom, 1 at the end on campus), you will be required to do a self-study questions on Diakle and a test by consulting the literature.
Exam schedules
At the end of the course, there is a vocabulary test, which is taken at home. This exam will be taken during one week in Diakle.
You can try the vocabulary test three times.
After the vocabulary test there will be the actual exam, which takes place on campus under supervision.
If you don't pass the exam the first time, you can retake it on the general exam days further. You can retake the exam twice.
