• understand evidence-based and customer-oriented promotion of health and wellbeing at individual, community and societal level
• can describe the promotive and preventive approaches to health promotion and the levels of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention
• know the legislation, programmes and recommendations governing health and wellbeing
• know the key indicators describing the wellbeing and health of people in Finland
• know the most common diseases affecting the Finnish population and understand the importance and prevention of these diseases at individual, community and societal level
• understand health inequalities and related factors
• understand the impact of the environment and climate change on health and wellbeing
• know how to use motivational interviewing as an intervention in nursing
• know how to search for evidence-based information

Lähihoitaja tutkinnon suorittanut voi suorittaa opintojakson terveysalan osalta (4 op) testillä, suomen kielen osuus 1 op tulee suorittaa.
Lähihoitaja tutkinnon suorittanut opiskelija ilmoittautuu toteutukselle opintotoimiston/opinto-ohjaajan kautta.

Lähihoitajataustaiset opiskelijat voivat suorittaa opintojakson terveysalan osalta (4 op) testillä. Lähihoitajataustainen opiskelija ilmoittautuu toteutukselle opintotoimiston/ opinto-ohjaajan kautta.
Mikäli testi on hylätty, osallistuu opiskelija ko. opintojaksolle. Hyväksytyllä suorituksella opintojaksosta 4 op merkitään suoritetuksi.
Suomen kielen osuus (1 op) suoritetaan opintojakson toteutuksen mukaisesti.
