• understand pharmacotherapy as part of patient safety and are familiar with the procedure for reporting pharmacotherapy-related risks and adverse incidents
• understand the responsibilities of student nurses and registered nurses in pharmacotherapy
• understand the principles of general pharmacology and pharmacy
• know how to look for and apply information on medication from drug databases
• know how to guide patients in pharmacotherapy and the interpretation of an electronic prescription
• can perform the medical calculations included in the course

Lähihoitaja tutkinnon suorittanut voi suorittaa opintojakson vaihtoehtoisella suoritustavalla. Suoritus toteutetaan testillä. Testiin tulee ilmoittautua opinto-ohjaajan ohjeiden mukaan.

The test will be taken on campus under supervision at the time indicated in the schedule.

Teaching methods
No lessons or lectures included.
Exam schedules
The test is an alternative completion method for students with a practical nurse background. The purpose of the test is to recognize previously acquired competence.
The test is taken on campus using your own computer in the Diakle learning environment. The test includes a medication test and a medication calculation tesr. Test instructions can be found in Diakle.
There is only one attempt; no retake opportunity is available for the medication test.
Further information
A student with a practical nurse background registers for the implementation through the Student Affairs Office or a study counselor.
