Objective

The students will be able to:
• develop their working life skills as a social services professional
• understand key aspects of labor market regulation in Finland
• reflect on professional practices in different contexts

Content

• working life culture in Finland
• Relevant legislation and regulation
• Collective bargaining agreements
• Working as a member of a multiprofessional work community

Materials

Materials are provided by the lecturer and will be available on Diakle.

Teaching methods

Lectures, workshop and an written assignment.

Study module starts with an orientation. Attendance to the orientation is compulsory in order to start the course. A student who has not started the course according to the course delivery plan and has not made a separate arrangement with the course lecturer can be removed from the course participant list seven days after the start of the course (Diak Degree Regulations 15 §).

Completion alternatives

Alternative way of completing the study module is only possible upon specific circumstances/criteria (i.e. sickness etc.). Personal reasons such as travel and work are not considered as acceptable criteria.
Alternative way of completing the study module must be agreed with the responsible teacher and/or study guidance counselor two weeks before the beginning of the study module the latest.

Further information

The study module requires skills to use Diak´s online learning area. Possibility to get AHOT/RPL as described in Diak´s RPL/AHOT guidelines. No previous studies are required to attend the study module.
