Objective

Students
• develop their oral language skills in situations related to nursing
• achieve B1.2-level oral proficiency in Finnish, which enables interaction with patients, relatives, colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
• are able to describe, explain and define phenomena in their field using oral language skills

Content

• common phrases required in nursing work
• discussions with patients and family members
• oral reporting, patient guidance and health advice
• healthcare vocabulary in Finnish
• interaction in a work community

Teaching methods

The course consists of lectures, group discussions, individual learning assignments and an exam at the end of the course (oral exam). The main focus is on nursing interaction and communication skills.

Oral Exam: 12th of December at 9:30-11.00
