Objective

The students will be able to:
• understand basic concepts of communities and community work
• reflect on the impact of societal changes on one’s personal life-course & personal identity
• apply community work methods

Teaching methods

ICO study module consists of orientation, lectures, individual assignments, field work in small groups, guidance on group work, seminar

Attendance to the orientation and final seminar is compulsory.

Exam schedules

Final seminar at the end of the study module.

Completion alternatives

Alternative way of completing the study module is only possible upon specific circumstances/criteria (i.e. sickness etc.). Personal reasons such as travel and work are not considered as acceptable criteria.

Alternative way of completing the study module must be agreed with the responsible teacher and/or study guidance counselor two weeks before the beginning of the study module the latest.

The alternative way of completing ICO study module is an extensive individual/group assignment.

Student workload

ICO study module is 4 cr. 1 cr equals 27 hours of student's work.

Further information

It is not possible to apply for RPL (recognition of prior learning) for this study module.

No previous studies are required to attend the study module.
