Objective
Students
• know how to develop public health nurse work that strengthens the health and ability to function of customers of various ages who need special support
• know how to assess the risks factors that increase the need for services related to health, living conditions and life situation and instruct the use of existing services
• know how to analyse the diversity and significance of minorities from the viewpoint of resources and special support
• are familiar with models and work methods of health promotion that increase and impact the customer’s inclusion on an individual, group and community level
• understand the effect of common knowledge and culture to the health, ability to function and marginalisation of individuals and the population
• know how to seek out and support customers, families and communities in need of special support and at risk of marginalisation in collaboration with other actors
• know how to speak out bravely on behalf of their customers and strengthen experiment-induced expertise
• are familiar with the basis and forms of social and diaconal work
• understand how their own life history and experiences affect their professional development
• know how to select and apply their communication methods according to the customer’s needs
