Objective
This course familiarises the student with social innovations as tools for enacting societal change and solving communal challenges. The aim is for the student to understand the nature of social innovations, how they are created and developed, and how they can influence the world. The student is introduced to the different stages of the innovation process, from idea to implementation, and learns to assess the impact of social innovations. The course provides the student with the ability to understand and develop innovative solutions to societal issues.
After completing the course, the student will be able to
- perceive social innovations within a societal framework
- understand the creation mechanism, process, and impact of social innovations.
