Objective
The student - can communicate understandably both orally and in writing in everyday situations in English, and has a working knowledge of the core structures of the language - improves their spoken and written English language skills in order to be able to undertake other English-language studies included in the degree.

- Ajasta ja paikasta riippumaton verkko-opetus - Ryhmä- tai parityöt - Webinaarit - Itsenäinen työskentely Opintojakso suoritetaan verkossa itsenäisesti. Opiskelijan tulee perehtyä erilaisiin materiaaleihin ja tehdä tehtäviä niiden pohjalta. Kurssilla on runsaasti erilaisia suullisia ja kirjallisia tehtäviä. Tehtävät ovat kielioppi-, kielentuottamis- ja ymmärtämistehtäviä sekä sanastotehtäviä. Osa tehtävistä tapahtuu verkossa keskustelualueella. Tehtävät sisältävät myös vuorovaikutusta muiden opiskelijoiden kanssa. Kurssin lopuksi on lyhyt verkossa tehtävä koe.
