Materials

The course is designed so that it starts with the basics. What are the operational and commercial basics. Material used comes from industry sources, based on teacher´s materials, Academic articles and commercial publications.

Once the students is familiar with the basics, the course starts to take deeper approach to mega-trends impacting the idustry. Sustainability and digitalization, and how their are transforming the industry

eCommerce is the biggest drivers of growth in Air Cargo and how to do that also in a sustainable manner is also one of the topics that will be handled during the course.

Teaching methods

Air Cargo is vital part of global supply chains. The total volume of global trade is only 1%, but its value is 1/3!. Therefore it is really significant part of it.

Air Cargo is expensive mode of transportation, but the speed is what the industry is selling. Customers are expecting quality deliveries and ontime performance in order to keep their operations and SCM running.

Modern tools needed - Air Cargo is about a decade behind the Aviation in general when it comes to digitalization, but the speed of development is fast at the moment. New industry-level standards have been defined to go paperless. Digitalization and sustainability go hand in hand in Air Cargo. The more information one can about the performance with modern tools, the better sustainable decisions can be made.
