Objective
Kurssin suoritettuasi ymmärrät diabeteksen vaikutuksia jalkaterveyteen, tunnistat yleisimmät diabeetikolla esiintyvät alaraajaongelmat, osaat niiden hoitoperiaatteet ja osaat arvioida koska diabeetikko tulee lähettää jatkotutkimuksiin esimerkiksi jalkaterapeutin tai lääkärin vastaanotolle. Saat perustietoa diabeetikon jalkahaavojen synnystä, haavan paranemisiin vaikuttavista tekijöitä ja keinoja jalkahaavan hoitoon. Lisäksi osaat ohjeistaa diabeetikkoa jalkojen omahoidossa, jalkineiden arvioinnissa ja jalkaongelmien ennaltaehkäisyssä.
Content
Opintojakso on lähtökohtaisesti suunnattu terveydenhuoltoalan ammattilaisille ja opiskelijoille, jotka haluavat lisätä tietouttaan diabeteksen vaikutuksista jalkaterveyteen ja saada keinoja jalkavaivojen ennaltaehkäisyyn ja hoitoon. Kurssi sopii myös diabetesta sairastavalle henkilölle. Kurssi suoritetaan kokonaisuudessaan Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulun Moodle ympäristössä, johon kurssille hyväksymisen jälkeen osallistuja saa tarvittavat tiedot kurssin suorittamiseksi. Opiskelu on aikaan ja paikkaan sitoutumatonta.

Teaching methods
