Objective

The student • identifies the diverse needs of clients in terms of culture, language, religion, sexual orientation and gender diversity • becomes aware of their own assumptions and practices related to diversity • identifies ways to actively promote equality and good community relations and to address intersectional discrimination in their environments.

Content

• The role of culture, language, religion, sexual orientation and gender diversity in human identity and well-being • Clients belonging to different minorities as users of social and health services • Cultural and gender sensitivity as part of learning and working communities and professional approach to client work • Promoting equality and preventing discrimination and polarisation

Location and time

The course is completed independently in Moodle during the period of validity of the study unit. Students’ assignments are reviewed and assessed once a month (at the end of the month/at the beginning of the following month). Completed work is entered into the register by the end of the month following submission.
