Objective
The student • understands the importance of inclusion, agency and community for individuals’ well-being • understands the dimensions of exclusion, disadvantage and inequality as individual, community and societal phenomena • is able to distinguish between societal structures and processes that marginalise and create inequality • understands the role of social security in individuals’ lives • recognises various means and actors involved in the prevention of exclusion among individuals of different ages.

Teaching methods
The course unit is primarily intended for the group SXH25S2VE and will be implemented entirely through online study. Completion of the course unit consists of: - participation in teaching and guided small group work - participation in and delivering a presentation at a seminar - participation in a social security workshop (including an independent preliminary task) - completion of a media monitoring assignment (including working independently and in a group) - independent study (reading literature and learning materials)
