Objective

After completing the study unit, the student will be able to

- evaluate multidisciplinary gerontological knowledge and competence in the diversity of ageing in working life and in the development of client-oriented services
- analyse the changing and diverse perceptions and concepts of old age from the perspectives of enhancing quality of life, inclusion, functional capacity, and agency among older people in various life situations
- apply research knowledge and competence, co-creation, and evidence-based information in the implementation of development activities for services for older people.

Content

The study unit includes the following learning modules:

- Definition of multidisciplinary gerontology, basic concepts, and principal theoretical models
- The diverse image of old age and the experiential nature of ageing
- Key theoretical foundations of quality of life, inclusion, agency, well-being, and health among older people living in various life situations
