- appropriate genres and styles in business communication - terminology of sales and purchases, typical phrases - import and export document models and their use - internal and external business communication including memos and press releases
Objective
Proficiency level: B2 The student is able to: - interpret business transaction documents - use field-specific business terminology and style of writing - prepare clear and accurate business messages in correct English - prepare explicit and effective texts for use within and outside the organization, and to meet the communicative needs.
Location and time
The course takes place during the spring term of 2026. No scheduled meetings. However, students must adhere to given deadlines.

Teaching methods
Teacher: Hanna Aronen The course consists of writing several different kinds of texts related to buying/selling goods or marketing your company and its products/services. The work is done online via Moodle. The students will be able to study examples and supporting material as well as complete quizzes and other assignments in preparation to writing the texts.

3 ECTS equals 81 hours of work. This includes studying the theory, doing practice quizzes, writing the course assignments and reading the feedback from the teacher.
