- know the basics of intoxicating substances and the risks and downsides related to their use
- understand the basics of how various crises manifest
- are familiar with the central legislation related to mental health and substance abuse work
- understand the significance of talking about a topic as well as early and well-timed help
- understand the significance of work promoting and remedying mental health
- understand the significance of preventative and remedying substance abuse work
- know the basics of crisis work and methods of helping
- understand the significance of customer-oriented multidisciplinary expertise in mental health, crisis and substance abuse work

Teaching methods

Opintojakso toteutuu verkko-opintoina, jolloin opiskelija perehtyy itsenäisesti suoritettavaan oppimateriaaliin; teemoina mielenterveyden häiriöt, päihdeongelmat sekä kriisityö ja niihin liittyyvä lainsäädäntö.
Sinun tulee palauttaa kaikki opintojakson oppimistehtävät opintojakson päättymispäivään mennessä.
Mikäli et ole palauttanut kaikkia tehtäviä määräpäivään mennessä, sinun tulee itse ilmoittautua uudelle toteutukselle ja suoritat opintojakson kokonaisuutena uudelleen.

Tehtävinä suoritetaan
- verkkokeskustelut päihde-, mtt-, ja kriisityöstä,
- yksilötehtävät ennaltaehkäisevästä näkökulmasta yllämainitusta
kolmesta teemasta
- A-klinikkasäätiön "Alkoholi puheeksi"-kurssi
- lopputentti

Tarkennettu tavoite- ja sisältökuvaus:
Opiskelija ymmärtää psykososiaalisten, yhteiskunnallisten ja biogeneettisten tekijöiden vaikutuksia mielenterveys- ja päihdeongelmiin ja tuntee mielenterveystyön tasot.
Opiskelija tuntee väestöllisesti keskeisimmät mielenterveyden häiriöt ja ymmärtää ehkäisevän mielenterveystyön merkityksen niiden vähentämiseksi.
Opiskelija tietää kriisityön käsitteelliset lähtökohdat, kriisien luokittelun ja kriisiprosessin vaiheet.
Opiskelija tuntee yleisimmät päihteet ja niiden vaikutusmekanismit, vaikutukset ja haitat ja ymmärtää ehkäisevän päihdetyön merkityksen niiden vähentämiseksi ja päihteiden käytön tasot ja riippuvuuden eri muodot.
Opiskelija tietää mielenterveys- ja päihdetyön lainsäädännön ja sitä tukevat asetukset.
Opiskelija ymmärtää ammatillisen persoonallisen kasvun reflektion merkityksen asiakaslähtöistä ja monisektoriaalista työtä toteuttaessaan.
