Objective

• This course serves to deepen the theoretical knowledge in the pathophysiology of human diseases as applied in the clinical context, focusing on patient safety.
• It also functions as a base for succeeding courses in clinical nursing.

• Discuss the etiology, signs and symptoms, complications and prognosis of the most common diseases
• Identify appropriate diagnostic examinations
• Explain the treatment alternatives, their mechanisms, including risk, side-effects and prognosis
