Objective

Students
• understand the value basis and principles of palliative and end-of-life care
• can carry out symptomatic holistic treatment of terminally ill and dying patients in a customer-oriented and evidence-based manner
• can identify, meet and support the emotional, existential and spiritual needs of patients and their family members
• understand the importance of multiprofessional work in supporting patients’ and their family members’ quality and management of life
• are able to use 3rd sector services in customer-oriented palliative care and in the consideration of customers’ spiritual needs
• reflect on their own worldviews and relationship to spirituality and how these influence their holistic interaction with customers
