Objective

Students
• are familiar with the multidisciplinary basis of nursing science and nursing and the challenges of future change
• are familiar with the history and central concepts of nursing science and nursing
• are familiar with the values and ethical basis of nursing science and nursing and recognises the ethical challenges in nursing
• know the main legislation governing the health sector

Content

• the multidisciplinary basis, central concepts and the challenges of future change in the healthcare sector
• history and theoretical basis of nursing science and nursing (paradigm – human, health, environment, nursing functions)
• values, principles, caring and concern in nursing
• nursing and nursing science ethics
• expertise, interaction and respectful treatment of patients in nursing
• collegiality
• personal expertise and ethics in nursing
